Prezly is a PR workspace built around a branded newsroom: contacts, publishing, pitching and campaign analytics in one place. It gets your story out.
PRCoverage takes the coverage that story earns and scores each placement across ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, inside a client-ready report. It shows what happened next.
Different jobs, so most teams that run both keep Prezly as the workspace and add PRCoverage as the measurement layer. No migration is involved.

Prezly takes the top five rows outright. Both publish their prices and both let you trial without a card, which is rarer in this category than it should be.
The newsroom. Stories, releases, galleries and media kits live on a branded site that looks like the client rather than like a vendor. It's one of the best press-page products in the category, and the reason most teams choose Prezly in the first place.
Contacts you own. Each journalist profile carries a timeline of what they opened, clicked and covered. Follow-ups land warmer when you can see that history before you write.
Pitching that stays out of the void. Campaigns go out as multimedia emails with per-contact engagement tracking, from your own domain on Standard.
Clear, published pricing. Essential is €100 a month and Standard €250 a month on annual billing, with a 14-day trial. Prezly says more than 500 PR teams use it, including IKEA, Sony and Emirates.
The common complaint in reviews is price for solo users, since Essential caps you at one user and one site.
A PR engagement has a before and an after.
Before: find the journalist, warm the relationship, publish the newsroom post, send the pitch, log the hit. That's Prezly's territory, and it covers it end to end.
After: the article is live, and a buyer asks ChatGPT for a shortlist in your client's category. Is that placement one of the sources the answer is built from, and does it outrank a competitor's coverage?
Prezly's analytics answer how the newsroom and the campaign performed. PRCoverage answers what each individual placement is doing inside AI answers, rated Top, Medium, Low or Not Yet Indexed. Neither tool attempts the other's half.
Prezly does work on AI, so the distinction needs drawing carefully.
Its AI features sit on the production side: writing assistance, auto-translation, and newsrooms structured so search engines and AI crawlers can read your owned announcements. That's useful. A well-structured newsroom is easier for a model to parse.
It's also a different question from the one clients now ask. A model can index your newsroom perfectly and still recommend a competitor, because buyer-facing answers are assembled mostly from third-party coverage: the trade review, the feature, the podcast writeup. Owned content being findable doesn't tell you whether earned content is being cited.
PRCoverage measures the second thing, per placement. You can also switch any view to earned media only, which strips out company pages, Wikipedia and Reddit and shows which outlets are actually feeding answers in your client's category. Those outlets become the next pitch list, which loops back into the outreach you run in Prezly.
| Tool | Entry | Next tier | Trial |
|---|---|---|---|
| PRCoverage | $50/mo Pro | $100/mo Premium | 15 days, no card |
| Prezly | €100/mo Essential | €250/mo Standard | 14 days, no card |
Prezly's prices are billed annually. Agency plans and an enterprise tier sit above these, and third-party guides list media monitoring as a separate add-on from about €150 a month, so check that line if coverage tracking is part of why you're buying.
Because the two don't overlap, the realistic budget is the pair: Prezly Essential plus PRCoverage Premium, roughly €100 plus $100 a month, covering newsroom, CRM, pitching and per-placement AI proof.
| Situation | Best fit | Also consider |
|---|---|---|
| Newsroom is your public front door | Prezly | PRCoverage for the after-publication read |
| Solo pro reporting to clients | PRCoverage | Prezly if you need a newsroom |
| Boutique agency, 2 to 10 | Both | Prezly agency plans for multiple sites |
| Clients asking about AI answers | PRCoverage | Keep Prezly for the workflow |
Worth separating what you'd lose from what you'd gain, because PRCoverage doesn't replace most of what Prezly does.
What moves easily. Your coverage. Paste the links or upload a CSV and the reports rebuild in minutes. Export your contacts before you cancel, since they don't sync anywhere.
What you'd have to replace. The newsroom. It's hosted on Prezly's infrastructure, so leaving means a replacement page and redirects, or you lose the search equity and inbound links it has built. Pitching and the CRM need a new home too.
When switching does make sense. You've mostly been using Prezly for the coverage log and campaign analytics, the newsroom gets little traffic, and your outreach runs from your own inbox. In that case you're paying €100 to €250 a month for features you don't open.
When it doesn't. The newsroom matters to journalists or to the client's own site. Keep Prezly, and add measurement beside it.
If you're replacing the whole workspace rather than adding to it, our Prezly alternatives guide compares eleven options.
Prezly stays exactly as it is. In PRCoverage you add the client and import the coverage you're already logging, by link or CSV. Each article gets screenshotted and scored, and the first branded report is ready a few minutes later. Contacts, newsroom and campaigns are untouched.
Does Prezly track AI visibility? No. Its AI features help create and publish content and make the newsroom crawlable. It doesn't check whether your earned coverage is cited in ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude.
Is PRCoverage a Prezly alternative? Only for the reporting half. It has no newsroom, CRM or pitching, so most teams use it alongside Prezly rather than instead of it.
Which costs less? PRCoverage starts lower, at $50 against €100. Since they do different jobs, compare the pair against whatever you'd otherwise pay for both halves.
Will I lose my newsroom if I switch? Not if you plan it. Export everything, set up a replacement page on your own domain, and redirect before cancelling.
Do both offer trials without a card? Yes. Prezly offers 14 days, PRCoverage 15.
Prezly is a strong workspace for teams whose PR runs through a newsroom and relationships they own, and its transparent pricing deserves credit.
What it can't tell you is whether the coverage you earned is being cited when buyers ask an assistant for recommendations. If that question has started coming up in client meetings, it's a $100-a-month addition rather than a migration.
