Releasd is a full PR reporting platform: designed, interactive reports with attention metrics, AI-powered coverage analysis, social data and room for LinkedIn and other activity alongside earned media.
PRCoverage is a narrower reporting tool built around one measurement Releasd doesn't make: whether each placement is cited when people ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude about your client's category.
Both tools use AI, which makes the names easy to confuse. Releasd uses AI to analyse the coverage itself. PRCoverage measures the coverage inside AI answers. Those are different jobs, and most of this comparison follows from that.

Releasd leads on nine of these rows. As a reporting product it's more complete than PRCoverage, and the comparison is only close because of the four AI-visibility rows at the bottom.
Reports that look designed. A drag-and-drop builder lets you place metrics and charts wherever they make sense, and the result shares as an interactive link rather than an attachment.
A serious answer to AVE. Attention Earned estimates hours of focused attention a piece of coverage received, and Attention Cost Estimate (ACE) prices what buying that attention through digital ads would cost, based on third-party attention studies. It's one of the most credible replacements for ad-value maths available.
Depth of analysis. Its analytics include Moz domain authority, coverage-level views from SimilarWeb data, social engagement, and AI-powered sentiment, prominence, key message penetration and brand recall scoring.
The whole story in one place. Thought leadership, LinkedIn content, events and narrative can sit beside earned media, which suits agencies whose work goes well beyond press.
Its client references include Brother and Mandarin Oriental, and reviewers consistently describe it as easy to use.
Everything Releasd measures describes the article and its audience: how many people saw it, how long they paid attention, how it was shared, what tone it took, whether it carried your key messages.
PRCoverage measures one thing that happens afterwards. Buyers now ask assistants which vendors to consider, and those answers draw heavily on earned coverage. PRCoverage builds prompts from each article's topic, checks the three models, and rates the placement Top, Medium, Low or Not Yet Indexed. Rankings and share of media compare your client with named competitors, and filtering to earned media shows which outlets the models are using.
An attention number tells a CMO the article was read. It can't tell them whether the article is one of the sources an AI cites when a prospect asks about the category. That's the only gap PRCoverage fills here, and for some clients it's now the first question asked.
| Tool | Published price | Trial |
|---|---|---|
| PRCoverage | $50/mo Pro, $100/mo Premium | 15 days, no card |
| Releasd | Plans listed on its pricing page; sales-led | Via demo |
Releasd lists plans on its site, but its product pages route buyers to a conversation with the team, and I couldn't verify current figures independently. Treat any third-party number you see as an estimate and confirm directly.
What's clear is that PRCoverage is built for self-serve purchase at a low entry price, while Releasd is built for teams that want a fuller reporting platform and are comfortable with a sales process.
| Situation | Best fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Report design and attention metrics matter most | Releasd | Builder, ACE, multimedia |
| Reporting LinkedIn, events and content as well as coverage | Releasd | Built for the full activity mix |
| Clients asking whether coverage appears in AI answers | PRCoverage | Per-placement AI Impact rating |
| Solo pro or small agency on a tight budget | PRCoverage | Self-serve from $50 |
| Want both reads | Both | Same coverage links, two reports |
Both tools produce client reports, so switching is possible. It's worth being clear-eyed about it, because you'd be giving up more here than in most comparisons.
What you gain. Per-placement AI ratings, AI rankings against competitors, and the earned-media view, in a self-serve tool at $50 or $100 a month.
What you lose. Attention Earned and ACE, social engagement, AI sentiment and key-message analysis, multimedia embeds, interactive web reports, and the ability to report non-coverage activity like LinkedIn content. That's a long list.
What moves. Your coverage, as a CSV or pasted links. Export past reports as PDFs before you cancel so the history stays with you.
When switching makes sense. Your clients mostly read a list of placements with reach figures, the design and attention layers go largely unread, and the question they've started asking is about AI answers.
When it doesn't. Clients rely on attention metrics, sentiment or key-message analysis, or your reports cover far more than press coverage. In that case keep Releasd and add PRCoverage beside it.
For most Releasd users, running both is the better answer than switching.
If you're replacing it outright, our Releasd alternatives guide ranks the wider field.
Does Releasd track AI visibility? No. Releasd uses AI to analyse coverage, including sentiment, prominence and key messages, but it doesn't check whether articles are cited in AI assistant answers.
Does Releasd include domain authority? Yes, from Moz, per article and averaged across publications.
What's the difference between ACE and AI visibility? ACE estimates what the attention a piece earned would cost to buy through ads. AI visibility measures whether that piece is cited when someone asks an AI model about the category. One describes the audience; the other describes the model.
Which is cheaper? PRCoverage publishes self-serve pricing from $50 a month. Releasd is sales-led, so confirm its current figures directly.
Can I use both? Yes. Keep Releasd for the designed report and its analytics, and import the same coverage into PRCoverage for AI ratings.
Releasd is the more complete reporting platform, with attention metrics that improve on AVE and analysis well beyond what PRCoverage offers. If your report is judged on design and depth, it's the stronger choice.
What it doesn't cover is whether your placements are being cited by AI models.
